The first thing you should bear in mind is that this island has fantastic things, some are mountainous and others are coastal, and you will also find charming cities that you should include in your itinerary.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>La Orotava<\/p>\n

Day 1\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Visit the Orotava Valley and climb up to the Teide National Park<\/b><\/p>\n

La Orotava Valley is a special enclave, it is a green valley where you will find a very interesting mix in the north of the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

Puerto de la Cruz<\/b><\/p>\n

Starting on the coast, visit the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, a coastal place with a traditional fishing dock and much to see. You can spend the morning in the pool complex called Lago Marti\u00e1nez, a space where you can enjoy saltwater pools that were designed by the famous Canarian architect C\u00e9sar Manrique. At the lake you can lie in the sun, enjoy the children’s pools, heated pools and a very curious garden area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Walking around the streets near the fishing dock is a great plan, you will find charming streets, many places to eat or have a coffee, and a curious outdoor exhibition, Puerto Street Art, a series of murals installed in buildings of the municipality by national and international artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Orotava<\/b><\/p>\n

Spend a couple of hours in La Orotava, tour its historic centre to encounter traditional Canarian architecture. Walk through the cobbled streets and come to La Casa de Los Balcones, a place where you will find a sample of a large Canarian-style house and an extensive exhibition of handicrafts and products from the islands.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you travel in the month of June, you may come across a very unique tradition, carpets. An artistic expression linked to the festivity of Corpus Christi, in which the streets are decorated with carpets of flowers and coloured earths. You can see a sculpture in homage to this tradition next to the church of La Concepci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n

We also recommend that you go to Victoria Gardens and take advantage of the beautiful views of the sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teide National Park<\/b><\/p>\n

On your trip to Tenerife there is one essential, something you can’t miss, and that is climbing the Teide or at least up to the Teide National Park. This Park was declared a World Heritage Site, due to its geomorphological importance and the biological variety that inhabits the place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teide is a volcano that crowns the skies of the Canary Islands and Spain, is the highest peak in the country, and is surrounded by a spectacular environment. You can go up by cable car from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm to almost the peak, but to make the full ascent you must obtain a special permit.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you don’t have time to make the trip by cable car, don’t worry, there’s plenty to see without having to climb. Come to the Roques de Garc\u00eda and take a look at the Llano de Ucanca, a large area of land next to the Parador.<\/span><\/p>\n

We recommend that you close your day with a star sighting at over 3,000 meters. There are many companies that offer star-watching guide services, and it is a spectacle worthwhile, because the policies of conservation of skies and altitude, generates an optimal combination to discover the mysteries of the night sky.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 2<\/b><\/p>\n

Your second day on the island can be dedicated to the southern area and something very special, the whale watching.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sighting of cetaceans and Los Gigantes cliffs<\/b><\/p>\n

The southwest coast of the island hides the best cetacean watching area in Europe. The island’s waters are home to stable populations of bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales, also known as pilot whales. If you want to discover these species in complete freedom, all you have to do is hire one of the boat excursions. However, we suggest that you take advantage of this opportunity to also enjoy another natural spectacle, Los Acantilados de Los Gigantes, a series of vertical walls that at their highest points reach 600 metres, which merge with the sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

These cliffs are the habitat of species as unique as the guinchos, and at the bottom you will find marine species typical of the archipelago.<\/span><\/p>\n

These excursions usually last more than 2 hours. We suggest that you enjoy them with the privacy and tranquility that offers<\/span> a sailboat<\/span><\/a>. Whale and dolphin watching, enjoy the sea and a very authentic navigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Jaquita natural pools<\/b><\/p>\n

In the municipality of Gu\u00eda de Isora, there are small natural swimming pools with beautiful views of the sea. On a promenade you will find several coves where you can swim, a small black sand beach with sunbeds and parasols. We recommend that you go there after your boat ride and spend the afternoon there, enjoying this place until the sun goes down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nightly Leisure<\/b><\/p>\n

If you want to enjoy the nightlife that the island offers, there are two places that have become absolute references: Monkey Beach and Papagayo Beach. Spaces next to the beach where you can have fun enjoying music and cocktails.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the area of Playa de Las Americas, you will find many other leisure and catering establishments. You will find a wide and varied offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3<\/b><\/p>\n

To close your trip, we propose that you go to the eastern area, specifically to the municipalities of La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lagoon<\/b><\/p>\n

In the municipality of San Cristobal de La Laguna, you will find streets full of history, and with a helmet that has earned him the distinction of World Heritage Site, this title receives it for being a model of unwalled colonial city unique in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

He spends a couple of hours walking around its most central streets, Herradores and Obispo Rey Redondo streets. Visit its many palaces and large houses, and go to a pastry shop and enjoy the typical pastries, with laguneros or rosquetes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once your trip to La Laguna is over, we recommend that you take a jump to the Anaga Rural Park, where there is a very well preserved example of Laurisilva forest. You can make without difficulty the routes of the senses, suitable even for children. There are routes of 10 minutes, 30 and some a little more extensive.<\/span><\/p>\n

This park is great for mountain biking or hiking. If you want to go for a longer walk, you can hire a guide to accompany you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Las Teresitas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife<\/b><\/p>\n

After your visit to the Anaga Natural Park, we recommend that you spend a relaxing afternoon at Las Teresitas beach, the most famous beach in the capital. This beach of white sand and palm trees is very comfortable, has extensive catering services, and is adapted for people with reduced mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n

The jetty on this beach makes it safe and with little waves.<\/span><\/p>\n

After enjoying a swim at Las Teresitas, we suggest that you visit the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Park near the Plaza de Espa\u00f1a and walk through the central streets, in the center you will find shops, cafes, restaurants and beautiful squares and gardens. A couple of hours will be enough to give you an idea of the pace of this island capital.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you want to optimize your time, it is convenient to rent a car.
